Bow down to Bauhaus

You probably never heard of bauhaus, but it's a modern art design started in Germany in the 20th century. Bauhaus is all about simplicity and functionality, and is found in more place than you think. For example, many home decorations from Urban Outfitters and Target are very bauhaus. It's amazing that it's undergoing a revival, mostly because the Nazis tried to stamp it out in Germany. What did they have against modern design? Well, turns out the Nazis accused those involved in the bauhaus movement of being too left wing and being conspiring communists, leading to the shut down of the Bauhaus design school during the Nazi terrorist regime (and designers bringing the design to other countries after emigrating).

P.S. Outside the Bauhaus Museum in Berlin, I saw my first tiny house being built shown here!
