Actually a fortress of what was once the Free Imperial City of Nuremberg, Nuremberg Castle stands at the highest point in Nuremberg. It's quite a climb from the beginning of town up to the fortress, which strategically was built to have a great vantage point of its surroundings.

Fun fact here: The well is kept inside a building so that it could be locked up to prevent psychos from poisoning the village.
